VeriLocation

As a user of SIM tracking in the past I was very keen to embrace new technologies and take advantage of GPS based location data. Having been a customer of VeriLocation's SIM tracking solution I was more than happy to continue my existing relationship with them to utilise the new Personal Tracking, Lone Worker Protection software available for GPS enabled BlackBerry mobile phones.

The process was easy from start to finish - all I had to do was download the software to my BlackBerry and provide VeriLocation with account setup details, and away I went with the GPS tracking. I can access my account online 24 hours a day from any internet enabled computer and see exactly where my device is and where it has been. It allows me to manage my day and improve customer service.

The accuracy of GPS tracking is far better than my experience with SIM tracking - and combined with Aerial imagery I can easily see the current or past locations of my staff. I have found it to be a very cost effective solution too - I know exactly how much it will cost me each month as there are no hidden charges; I don't get 'failed' tracking requests either. The interface is so user friendly I was up and running straight away - VeriLocation offered to come and train me on how to use the system, but I found I didn't need it! I have successfully used the tracking in Britain and the United States.

On a personal note I really feel this type of technology can have a huge impact not only on businesses, but for families too. My son and his friend were in Thailand during the tsunami of Christmas 2004 - we had the most horrendous Boxing Day not knowing if they were alive or dead, fearing the worst; we heard nothing from them all day. When we eventually did make contact - they were fine - we discovered they had moved to a nearby island a few days before, and actually knew nothing about the Tsunami at the time. If he had had VeriLocation's personal tracking we would have known that he was nowhere near the tsunami and not spent possibly the worst day of my life worrying!
